Preparedness Resources

The strongest communities are the ones ready to take care of each other when that care is needed. That’s why one of our focuses at Montague Commoners is helping people organize their households and neighborhoods for emergency situations. Here are some resources to help you do that.

Outside Resources

Live Like The World Is Dying – An emergency preparedness podcast that focuses on community survival and well-being rather than the bullets-and-canned-beans “rugged individualist” model. Each episode focuses on a different aspect of preparedness, like battery storage or water filtration.

Mutual Aid Disaster Relief – A network of decentralized disaster relief groups that’s put together resources to help new groups learn from previous efforts. They have a large library of printable zines, and a directory of groups doing mutual aid work around the country.

Local city text alerts – Get on the list for emergency text notifications from the cities of Montague and Whitehall by texting “WHITEHALLMI” and/or MONTAGUEALERTS” to 91896

MC Resources
